Travel to Thailand and open your heart

Anahata Yoga Shala is the cherry on top of your healthy smoothie, an oasis in paradise. If you walk through the sand of Haad Yao, it is not unusual to hear happy laughter coming from the yoga studio. On the terrace of the studio you can practice asanas overlooking the ocean.

Anahata अनाहत is the chakra that, according to Hindu, Buddhist and yogic traditions, is located in the heart space. When in balance, the anahata chakra encourages love, compassion and acceptance – towards others and also to ourselves.

It is also the "place" where the atman, the true and universal self, resides. If you want to deeply understand and explore this concept of being, you first have to connect with yourself. And that's exactly what you can do at Anahata Yoga Shala.

Take it easy and embrace the bliss

The shala itself is not necessarily an architectural masterpiece, but the simple whitewashed wood is wonderfully subtle and the perfect setting to turn all your attention to the surroundings, and of course your yoga practice.

Owner Vanessa is originally from South Africa, but has lived on Koh Phangan in Thailand for many years. Without much fuss she teaches authentic hatha vinyasa classes. She is a real character. Be prepared to laugh a lot in class! With her charming character and a healthy dose of delightful craziness, Vanessa creates a cheerful environment.

Authenticity and lightness define the yoga classes at Anahata Yoga Shala. Vanessa casually drops some wisdom while flowing with you through sun salutations. She proofs that the best way to live life is by not taking it too seriously!

Here you'll find the weekly class schedule of Anahata Yoga Shala and all teacher trainings offered.

Fly high with Aerial Yoga

Joining a class at Anahata Yoga Shala will make you feel light and uplifted. So much that you might even learn to fly in one of their aerial yoga sessions.

The yoga props are more practical in nature and reflect Anahata's likeable easy going attitude. And let's face it, Lululemon mats are great, but you really only need your presence to practice your daily Sādhanā, right? Of course, you are also welcome to bring your own yoga mat to practice.

Once you're sitting on your mat, gazing out at the pristine white sands and the ocean sparkling in all shades of turquoise, nothing else really matters anyway. And of course, it is a wonderful invitation to deepen your relaxation on the beach and sizzle in the sun after your yoga class.

While practicing at Anahata Yoga Shala I met Irene from Spain. She used to teach aerial yoga classes at the shala, but is now spreading joy at ULU Yoga, offering traditional aerial hatha and aerial vinyasa yoga trainings. Irene has a genuine heart and embodies a yogic mindset. I am sure you will enjoy being surrounded by her bright energy.
